Author, Educator, Editor
Tara Jane Ambrose (she/her) is a queer Midwest-based romance author and published poet. She holds a B.A. in English and Writing, as well as a Creative Writing MFA. She has taught Creative Writing, First Year Writing, and Composition at the college level, and served as an Editor for several online and print literary journals. She is an active member of Chicago-North Romance Writers.
Ever since she bought a giant box of Silhouette Romance paperbacks for $5 from a library sale when she was twelve years old, Tara has been an avid romance reader, devouring any and all categories of the genre.
Tara thinks anyone who hates blonde MMCs hasn’t met Jack Smith-Turner, and that’s a shame. Ask her about the perfect meet cute and she’ll wax poetic about the opening of NERO by S.J. Tilly (seriously, it should be studied in schools). At any given time she is probably rewatching True Blood, rereading Lisa Kleypas, or daydreaming about a one-way ticket to Not-Hoth.
She is also an anti-racist, intersectional feminist, and her work and the work she chooses to engage with reflects those core values. She believes telling your story should not be cost prohibitive, and the more diversity in storytelling, the better off we all are for it.
